Impact & accountability

The numbers, including the two we missed

Every figure here is reconciled against our audited accounts and our kitchen registers. Where a programme fell short of its own target, it is on this page with the reason and what we changed.

Targets are set at the start of the financial year by the programme team and signed off by the board. They are not revised downward mid-year.

Daily Food Seva — Bhopal

Days served without interruption

Including Sundays and festivals. A food queue people plan their day around is only useful if it never has a gap — this is the number we treat as non-negotiable.

365 365

Daily Food Seva — Bhopal

Meals served against plan

An average of 510 meals a day against a planned 500. Demand outside the hospital gates rose through the winter months and the kitchen absorbed it.

1,82,500 1,86,240

Daily Food Seva — Bhopal

Cost per meal held at ₹40

A nine-week vegetable price spike pushed the grocery line up. We chose to absorb it rather than shrink the portion, which means this quarter cost more than budgeted.

₹40.00 ⚠ ₹41.60

Monsoon Response — Assam

Family relief kits distributed

Delivered over eleven days in Barpeta and Dhemaji, by boat where the roads were gone.

1,800 1,840

Monsoon Response — Assam

Phase two (seed, fodder, documents) funded

The recovery phase remains our hardest thing to fund, because by the time we spend it the news cycle has moved on. We under-communicated this to donors and are saying it plainly here instead.

Where the money goes

84 paise of every rupee reaches a plate

The remaining 16 paise buys the supervision, food-safety checks and accounting that make the 84 worth anything. We would rather defend that number than pretend it is zero.
